No Ifs, Ands, or Butts about it⦠Have a Happy Birthday!
Since 2013 I have been making Basset and Beagle cards for one of my co-workers to give to his mom, girlfriend and aunt. So his mom’s birthday is Feb 4th and Aunt’s birthdays is Feb 5th. So I found these adorable “butt” portraits of dogs and paired with this saying I came up with these birthday cards! Aunt is beagle owner and mom is Basset!! Which then gave me an idea for Valentine’s card for his girlfriend so stay tuned for that one!!
In last post I showed the card for the girl so this post is the card I did for the 16 yoa boy who also owns an English Bulldog.
Not finding anything on the internet that would work I put in a request for a bulldog birthday image from my husband. He created this in Photoshop and I think it turned out pretty darn cute! I used Try Stampin’ On Tuesday Sketch #309 as my inspiration. Instead of three images on the left I went with a present and balloons tied to the present. Instead of a sentiment I placed the bulldog there. The embossed background has the sentiment in it “Happy Birthday!”

I had two orders for birthday cards and they both have English Bulldogs. One was for a 25 year old girl and the other was for a 16 year old boy. Not finding anything on the internet that would work I put in a request for a bulldog birthday image from my husband. He created this in Photoshop and I think it turned out pretty darn cute! I used Try Stampin’ On Tuesday Sketch #308 as my inspiration…I just flipped where the string went and put mine on the bottom instead of the top. I really liked the striped paper with the image but wasn’t sure about mixing the other colors in…a little bit out of my comfort zone…but the lady loved it and so did her daughter, the birthday girl!

I got a request to make a birthday card for a groomer. Last year I needed a Yorkie birthday card so I went looking through the internet. I found a cute Yorkie in a cup at Cute As A Button Designs but there was Holly on the cup for Christmas. So I wrote the designer for permission to have my husband take the Holly off so I could use it for a Birthday Card. She said better yet I’ll draw you a Birthday Yorkie!! Such a sweet artist. So I made the card (realized I forgot to post it so will do that shortly) for a lady in her 70’s and she loved it. So I decided to use that image again for the groomer. It is amazing how cards have different feel to it depending on the paper and design that is used. I went for a more vibrant feel on this card….it just happened because when I saw that balloon paper I thought it was cute with the image! I used sketch #5 from the Jan Card Sketch Challenge @ scrapbook.com. This is also for the Jan Inspirational Card Challenge @ scrapbook.com – Bonus – I need birthday cards to replenish my stock so I made 3 more of these to do just that!

I realized making a card this year with this image that I forgot to post this card last year when I made it April 2016. I needed a birthday card for a lady in her 70’s that liked Yorkies. I went searching the internet and found a cute Yorkie in a cup at Cute as a Button Designs. But the cup had Holly in it as it was a Christmas Image. I wrote the designer for permission to remove the Holly so I could make it a birthday card. She said she would make me a Birthday Yorkie and this is what she came up with!! Adorable!! So my husband colored in the dog and inside of the box and I paper pieced the rest.
I can’t remember the sketch but if I find it I will update it.

Man, there is not enough time in the day. I have been trying to post this card since right before Halloween.
This was for my friend that has a standing order for Beagle and Basset Hound cards for every holiday. I had totally forgot about this FREE image until I was browsing through my digital stamps. Super excited to find it. I had just got a new paper pack at Hobby Lobby and it worked perfectly.

As soon as I saw the September Digi Bundle at Gerda Steiner Designs I knew I had to have it with this adorable puppy dressed up as a ghost! Then I had to bat my eyelashes at my husband to color it up in Photoshop. What was so cool is I didn’t give him any certain colors to use and this is what he came up with…the cool part is I had 2 sheets of this Doodlebug paper that matches perfectly!! I used MOJObella Sketch #9 as my inspirational.
So better late than never!! We wanted to give our vet assistant a thank you card to thank her for helping us get through Misty’s illness and passing. It only took me since June to make it and mail it. But she got it and loved it and was very thankful.
So last month I made all the categories in the Card Challenge except for the technique….I actually had it all laid out on the last day but didn’t have time to put it together. But I also used a sketch I had saved in my favorites so I will put it in that category this month since I used a saved sketch and saved technique!

I’m always on the lookout for cute Beagle’s and Basset Hounds because there is a guy at work that has a standing order for his mom and aunt to get a card every holiday and birthday with a Beagle or Basset Hound on it. A lot of the time he finds photos on the internet and sends them to me so I can’t post them on my blog but this year his Aunt got a card made with a new digital stamp, Christmas Sled, from Imagine That!…Digis by Kris.
I was in such a hurry to get his order done I was only able to take a crappy photo of the original just to document what I made her this year (have to keep a record so I don’t duplicate over the years!) So I cut the left over paper so I could make another one and ended up cutting it for a rectangle card even though the original was a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 square card.Β I decided to make it any way and then make a square one too! So now I have a couple cards ready for next years craft sale!
With 17 minutes left to go I got it done!! Now to get it on the site before the time expires! I’m entering this into the last π¦ Digi of the Month Challenge at Imagine That! They are going to try different challenges in 2016 so I guess I will pout for a bit and then come join in the new fun! I’m also excited about this image because I hinted after the Christmas Kitty image we needed a doggy and this is what we got π Love it!
